One of the many problems are POPUPS telling you your system may be infected and to 'CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE'. In a lot of cases that message IS the virus and once you 'CLICK HERE' you just installed the virus with a potential of disastrous results. Or worse yet should you run the System Scan, you are faced with a message showing a large number of infected files, registry errors or malacious software and the only way to fix it is purchasing their software for a nominal fee using your credit card. This in itself can be a scam trying to acquire your personal information and credit card numbers. Below is a document that talks about a couple of tested programs that offer effective Antivirus and Malicious software protection with links to their software download sites where they each offer complete free programs that are kept current on a regular basis or for a small fee you can purchase a version that offers more automated options that run in the background giving you full time protection. This is one time when more security programs from different vendors is NOT better than a couple of solid performers.
